Prof. P.T. Jayachandran is the Chair of the Physics at the University of New Brunswick and is the Principal Investigator of the Canadian High Arctic Ionospheric Network (CHAIN). CHAIN is a network of 25 high-data rate specialized Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers and 6 High-Frequency (HF) radars (ionosonde) that are being operated continuously for Arctic Ionospheric monitoring. His research focus is on the Solar Wind-Magnetosphere-Ionosphere (SW-M-I) interaction and its effect on modern communication and navigation systems. He has published over 100 papers in refereed scientific journals. He is the current Chair of Commission G&H of the International Union of Radio Science (URSI) Canadian National Committee. He is also a member of the Canadian Committee of Antarctic Research (CCAR). He served on many Canadian and international committees and advisory boards.
